Katie Galmarini, a sophomore softball player at Baldwin Wallace University in Berrea, Ohio, is turning her early experience with the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators into career momentum in the sports industry.
Galmarini interned with the Gators during their 2024 inaugural season after graduating from Barbe High School, an opportunity she says helped set her apart from other incoming college freshmen.
By adding the Gators internship to her resume, Galmarini gained foundational skills and real experience she later highlighted in an interview with the Cleveland Guardians.
She credited the internship throughout her process, using it as a key example in her interview.
Now majoring in Sports Management, Galmarini works a seasonal summer role with the Guardians at Progressive Field, assisting with home games and office hours while learning the workings of a professional baseball organization.
Galmarini plans to return for another summer with the organization, continuing to build on the opportunity that helped begin her journey.
