To the Gumbeaux Gators, community is EVERYTHING.
Without the support of our extended “Gators FAM,” there would be no Gumbeaux Gators. That’s why we strive to give back to Lake Charles and the surrounding communities in every way possible, with the hope of helping make our community stronger. It takes a village, and we hope our efforts inspire other teams and fans to pay it forward.
As a summer collegiate baseball team, we welcome players from across the nation each year. But as any true Louisianian knows, there’s no place more resilient or full of spirit than LOUISIANA. We hope every player leaves at the end of the summer carrying a little piece of Louisiana spirit with them, because our team is about so much more than just baseball.
Instilling a sense of community in these young men is a responsibility we take seriously. That’s why, during their three-month stay in Lake Charles, our players participate in team-wide outreach efforts—visiting schools, hospitals, nursing homes, churches, food banks, the Miracle League, and many other organizations.
We love Lake Charles and every single person who calls it home. As an organization, we will always be proud to lend a helping hand!
