James Landreneau

Manager

James Landreneau, the winningest coach in McNeese softball history, is in his 14th season with the program and 10th as head coach, compiling a 339–181 overall record and a 163–41 mark in Southland Conference play. He reached his 300th career win on February 7, 2025, and became the program’s all-time wins leader one week later. A four-time Southland Conference Coach of the Year, Landreneau has guided the Cowgirls to four consecutive regular season titles (2022–2025) and three straight conference tournament championships (2021–2023), while leading multiple NCAA Regional runs and a program-record 47-win season in 2023. His teams have consistently ranked among the nation’s best statistically, including leading the country in doubles in 2025. Under his leadership, McNeese players have earned two All-American honors, 55 All-Southland selections, and numerous individual awards, highlighted by Erika Piancastelli, a four-time conference Player of the Year and former Olympian. Landreneau owns the top conference winning percentage (.799) in league history and ranks among the all-time leaders in overall wins, continuing to build one of the most successful eras in program history.
